I have many friends who have used slings with their kids and I decided when I got pregnant with Ellie that I was going to try one out with her. I had one with my son that I bought from Wal-Mart but it was more of a carrier, with all sorts of straps and clasps and what not – it was way too confusing and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I used it. So since I had Ellie, I’ve been researching slings and other types of carriers to try and find one that would suit me. I found lots of different websites but finally decided on Hugamonkey, a site that dedicates itself to making affordable slings.

+ POSITIVES +
- The slings are very affordable. There’s quite a few on clearance right now and I also used a coupon code I found here to get another 10% off my order. Also, they have a 100% guarantee, free shipping and free returns. I ended up ordering the black baby sling seen here. I figured black would be simple, go with everything and hubby could wear it too, if he wants.
- After I ordered the sling, I received several prompt emails about my order and when it would be shipped. It also arrived relatively quickly. I ordered it last Wednesday night and recieved it today.
- The sling is SUPER easy to use. And if you’re still struggling with it, there’s handy little videos on their website that show you exactly how to use it. They also show you all the different ways you can use it to carry your child.
- NEGATIVES -
- The sling is a little big but I was on the fence about what size to get and ordered the bigger. It works just fine, it’s just a little bit roomier than the other size might have been. That’s really about the only issue I’ve had with it.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I am happy with my new sling. I can keep Ellie close and still do stuff around the house or at least have my hands free. She seems to really enjoy the closeness and being involved in everything I’m doing. It’s very durable but still lightweight. I think it will be really handy to use when we’re out and about. I’d definitely recommend Hugamonkey if you’re thinking about buying a sling!

I’m SOOOOO glad you posted this! I have “sling” on my list of things I want when I get pregnant.
I’ve been looking at a mei tei knockoff on etsy, but all the straps seem so confusing. This one looks so easy to use!
Thanks again for posting this.

Baby Slings are the easiest type of baby carrier to use. You simply slip the sling over your shoulder and pop your baby in. Plus you can’t beat the price of Hug a Monkey Slings.

It definitely is easy to use. I will definitely buy another one from them if and when I need it.

Thank you so much for writing this review! I purchased one a few minutes ago. Also, thank you for sharing the coupon too. I was looking for slings for a while and some of the prices are outrageous! I can’t wait until it comes.

No problem! I agree, some of the websites I looked at were just crazy – especially for something that might get pooped, puked or peed on!
I hope you enjoy your sling as much as I enjoy mine!
