I’m attempting to transfer all my music off of my old laptop onto a jump drive or onto cds, which let me tell you – it’s quite a chore. I HAVE A LOT OF MUSIC. While listening to a mellow mix earlier while doing some homework, I had an ephipany. I need to make a labor mix! I need to make some cds of my favorite or inspiring songs to listen to during the labor and delivery! I am a music lover and I think that would be a big help. So I’m looking for any suggestions you may have. I’m probably going to steer away from the screamo or angry music, but upbeat is alright. I’ll probably make a few different mixes, some with just uptempo stuff and others that are a bit calmer. Here’s a few songs I have in mind already:
~ “Blackbird” by The Beatles or Sarah McLachlan – I love both versions of this song.
~ Pretty much anything off of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” cd.
~ “Mighty Little Man” by Steve Burns – Yes, the Blues Clues guy. I just discovered his music and the “Songs for Dustmites” cd is fabulous.
~ “Passacaglia”, “Allegro”, “Battlestar Sonatica” and “Battlestar Operatica” from various Battlestar Galactica soundtracks.
~ “Porcelain” by Moby
~ “For Your Babies” by Simply Red
~ “My Funny Valentine” by Rufus Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle – Just a completely beautiful version of this song.
~ “Ceremony” by Martin Tillman
~ “Mr. Blue Sky” by Lily Allen – This song is adorable and funky, a good upbeat song.
~ Various classical pieces by Chopin, Vivaldi and Pachabel
Anyway, feel free to leave some suggestions! I’ll upload the mix after I finish it – probably not today, but sometime this week.

You know how I feel about Sarah McLachlan…so I’ll suggest the following Sarah songs

We had a lot of Jack Johnson on our birthing cd, as well as ‘yellow’ from Coldplay…though their new cd is pretty amazing, isn’t it?

I know I have “Ice Cream” but I’ll have to check on the others. I love Sarah’s voice – I find it very calming. And it always reminds me of you!
And I will probably put more Coldplay on there too. I am just in love with that new cd.
